Synopsis

BEYOND BURNSIDE PART 2 Barbara Gordon and her friend Kai have flown to Singapore. When a drone shows up to spy on Kai and her at the hotel, Batgirl thinks she has found a lead to the mysterious criminal chasing her friend, but it turns out to be a peeping tom.   Batgirl goes again over the killer dressed as a schoolgirl that attacked Kai back on Okinawa. She notices she had a Chinese ideogram meaning "student, pupil" tattooed on her arm. Fruit Bat wanted her to find a "teacher". May it be a clue?   Later Barbara tries to enter a martial arts tournament sponsored by an organization called "Adapt", but they no longer sign female fighters. Ticked off, Barbara storms out. Then she is introduced to May Hao, a private gym's owner. May talks about the martial arts scene in Singapore for a bit and suggests to set up an amateur match between Barbara and a Chinese fighter called Wen "the Moth" Lu for the next Friday.   Barbara spends three hours training with May. Back her hotel room, Kai takes her to the Marina Bay sands. Barbara wonders how he can afford it and what he has gotten himself into.   Barbara learns he got hired for a DDS -Data Distribution Services- position. When she mentions she is standing in Singapore for a few days, he calls someone called "grandfather" to postpone his next appointment.   Kai spends a week romancing Barbara, who cannot stop thinking that relationship is a mistake. The Friday night Barbara fights Wen Lu. During the duel she notices the tattoo on her arm. Wen takes advantage of her distraction to knock her out.
